In my 40s, something shifted for me.

I started redefining my life and taking ownership of my happiness; especially the way I love, prioritize, and honor myself. What I didn’t realize at the time was how much of my joy had been shaped by other people’s expectations… expectations I hadn’t even noticed I’d agreed to.

Valentine’s Day used to be one of those moments.

A day with rules.
A day that quietly graded your life, your relationship status, your romance, your worth.
A day that told you what love was supposed to look like.

And somewhere along the way, I decided I was done letting a date on the calendar define the love I have over my life.

In this midlife chapter, Valentine’s Day doesn’t come with outdated rules anymore. We get to create the Golden Rules, love that’s honest and safe, celebration that feels authentic, and peace that doesn’t require performance.

This season, I’m choosing intention over pressure.

I’m giving myself permission to celebrate in ways that actually feel good; whether that’s with myself, with my girls, with my man, or with quiet reflection.
