The woman I don’t want you to forget this weekend

Hey Sizz,

As we approach Memorial Day weekend, I want to first pause and acknowledge the true meaning of this holiday.

Memorial Day is about honoring and remembering the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives in service to this country. Their courage, service, and sacrifice deserve our gratitude and remembrance.

But as I sat with the word “memorial,” I also couldn’t help but think about how many women have quietly forgotten themselves while showing up for everybody else.

Not physically forgotten.

But emotionally. Mentally. Personally.

Some women have spent so many years being needed that they no longer know what they need anymore.

Some have become so accustomed to carrying the weight of everybody else’s lives, schedules, emotions, and expectations that they haven’t stopped long enough to ask themselves: “What about me?”

So as you prepare for this holiday weekend, yes… rest, enjoy family, gather with people you love.

But I also want you to be intentional about remembering YOU too.

Here are 3 things I want you to prioritize this Memorial Day weekend:

  1. Give yourself permission to pause. Not every moment has to be productive. You do not have to earn rest. Slow down long enough to hear yourself again.
  2. Spend time with people who make you feel safe to be fully yourself. Not perform. Not prove. Not shrink. Community matters more than we realize, especially in midlife.
  3. Ask yourself what version of you has been neglected. Your joy? Your confidence? Your voice? Your femininity? Your dreams? Your peace? You deserve attention too, Sis.

And honestly… this is one of the reasons I created Sizzle Social Night Out.

Not just for a girls’ night. Not just to get dressed up. Not just for cute photos and mocktails.

But because women need community. Women need connection. Women need spaces where they can laugh, breathe, exhale, reconnect, and remember who they are outside of responsibility.

So if your soul has been craving connection, fun, conversation, sisterhood, and a night to simply BE… I want you to join me.

Hey Sizz, As we celebrate Juneteenth, I'm reminded that freedom isn't just something we honor in history—it's something we have to choose for ourselves. For many women, the biggest prison isn't physical. It's spending years showing up for everyone else while slowly losing sight of who you are. That's why I created the Sizzle Series. These experiences were designed to help women reconnect with themselves, build meaningful relationships, have courageous conversations, and create space for...

Hey Wifey, Can I ask you a question? What happened to her?Not the woman everyone else sees, but the woman underneath the titles. The one who used to laugh a little louder, say yes a little more often, get dressed up just because, and make time for things that brought her joy.Years ago, I found myself asking the same question.Life was full. Marriage, motherhood, responsibilities, schedules, work, and all the things that came with being needed by everyone around me. Nothing was necessarily...
