3 Questions Every Midlife Woman Needs to Ask Herself

Hey Sizz!

We’re at the end of another quarter, and before you roll into the next one with the same routines, the same responsibilities, and the same things on your to-do list, I want you to take a minute and ask yourself something.

Are you happy with the life you’re living, or have you just gotten really good at managing it?

Because there’s a difference.

You can be showing up for everybody, handling your responsibilities, doing what needs to be done, and still feel like something is missing. You can look like you have it all together while quietly wondering when your own life is going to feel exciting, fulfilling, and truly yours again.

If you’re in midlife, here are three areas worth taking an honest look at before you step into your next chapter.

1.YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOURSELF

When was the last time you made a decision based on what you wanted, not what your family needed, your partner preferred, or everyone else expected of you?

Somewhere along the way, you may have become the dependable one, the problem solver, the one who makes things happen. You learned how to keep everything moving, but maybe you stopped asking yourself what makes you happy.

Ask yourself: Do I still recognize the woman I’ve become, and do I like the direction she’s going?

What have you put aside that you still want? What parts of yourself have you neglected? And what would it look like to start making room for the woman you are now, not just the woman everyone has grown accustomed to?

2. YOUR RELATIONSHIPS

Midlife has a way of changing how you see your relationships. What worked ten or twenty years ago may not be working anymore. Your needs may have changed. Your boundaries may need to change. And the way you connect with your spouse, partner, friends, or family may need a little more honesty than you’ve been willing to give it.

Ask yourself: Are my relationships allowing me to grow, or am I constantly shrinking parts of myself to keep the peace?

Are you communicating what you need? Are you making space for connection, or just managing the logistics of everyday life? Are you holding on to relationships out of love, habit, fear, or obligation?

This isn’t about blaming anyone or making drastic decisions. It’s about being honest about where you are, what you need, and what you want your relationships to look like in this next chapter.

3. YOUR CAREER, PURPOSE, AND WHAT’S NEXT

Maybe you’ve spent years building a career, raising a family, running a business, or being the person everyone counts on. Maybe you’ve accomplished things you once dreamed about, but now you’re wondering, Is this still what I want?

Or maybe you know you want something different, but you keep telling yourself you’ll figure it out when things slow down.

Ask yourself: If I could redesign the next five years of my life, what would I keep, what would I change, and what would I finally give myself permission to pursue?

You don’t have to have the whole plan figured out. But you do have to be willing to admit when you’ve outgrown something. You are allowed to want more, try something new, change direction, or discover a part of yourself you haven’t explored yet.

Your next chapter doesn’t have to look like your last one. And it certainly doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.

HERE’S WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO THIS SUNDAY.

Take 10 minutes. Put your phone down. Get honest with yourself about these three areas.

You don’t need to solve everything today. Just stop pretending you don’t hear the little voice telling you something needs attention.

The end of a quarter is a good time to review your business goals, your finances, and your calendar. But it’s also a good time to check in with the woman who’s been carrying it all.

You deserve to be part of the life you’re working so hard to maintain.

And if these questions bring something to the surface, don’t rush to push it back down. Get curious. Give yourself permission to explore what you really want.

Because this next chapter? You get a say in how it unfolds.
